Course overview

Extend your limit to 40 metres with the PADI Deep Diver specialty at Khao Lak, perfectly matched to the deeper pinnacles of the Similan Islands. Over four dives you learn deep-dive planning, gas management and narcosis awareness on sites like Koh Bon and Koh Tachai, where dramatic granite walls and pelagic encounters await at depth.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and execute dives to a maximum of 40 metres
• Manage gas supply and no-decompression limits at depth
• Recognise and respond to nitrogen narcosis
• Monitor time, depth and air conservatively
• Use safety stops and backup gas planning
• Adapt buoyancy and ascent control at deeper profiles

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• PADI Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver
• Comfortable buoyancy and gas management
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & dives 1–2

   Cover deep-diving theory and complete the first two progressively deeper dives at a national-park pinnacle.
2. Day2
   Dives 3–4 & certification

   Complete two further dives toward 40 metres at Koh Bon or Koh Tachai, with planning and narcosis exercises, then certify.
