Course overview

Go deeper with confidence on the SSI Deep Diving specialty in the Seychelles, exploring Mahe's dramatic granite pinnacles and walls that fall into the Indian Ocean. Over four dives on outer sites such as Brissaire Rock and Shark Bank you learn to plan and manage dives to 40 metres while scanning the blue for whale sharks and rays. You complete the course certified to dive to recreational depth limits.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and conduct dives to a maximum of 40 metres
• Manage air supply, bottom time and ascent rates at depth
• Identify and manage nitrogen narcosis
• Carry and deploy a redundant air source
• Use dive computers and tables for deep no-stop diving
• Apply deep-dive buddy and safety procedures

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• SSI Advanced Adventurer / Open Water Diver or equivalent
• Solid buoyancy and air-consumption control
• Medical clearance signed by a physician
• Comfort with deeper, open-water diving

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Deep skills

   Digital theory and two dives toward 30 metres on Mahe's walls, practising gas planning and narcosis awareness.
2. Day2
   Recreational depth limit

   Two deeper dives toward 40 metres on sites such as Brissaire Rock or Shark Bank, then certify.
