Course overview

Reach the recreational depth limit with the SSI Deep Diving specialty at Kovalam, training to 40 metres in the warm Arabian Sea off the Kerala coast. Over training dives near Kovalam you master deep-dive planning, gas management and narcosis awareness. You finish certified to dive to 40 metres as an SSI Deep Diver.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and conduct dives to a maximum of 40 metres
• Manage air and no-decompression limits at depth
• Recognise and respond to nitrogen narcosis
• Monitor depth, time and gas precisely
• Apply safety stops and contingency planning

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• SSI Advanced Adventurer or equivalent
• Comfort and experience at 18-30 metres
• Diver medical questionnaire (physician sign-off if any condition applies)

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory and first deep dives

   Cover deep-diving theory through the SSI app and make the first progressive deep dives off Kovalam.
2. Day2
   Deeper dives and certification

   Complete the deeper training dives toward 40 metres in the Arabian Sea and certify as an SSI Deep Diver.
