Course overview

Push your limits safely with the SSI Deep Diving specialty in Komodo, where pinnacles, walls and seamounts make deep training genuinely meaningful. You learn gas planning, narcosis management and controlled profiles on real vertical relief that drops well past 30 metres. You finish certified to dive to a maximum of 40 metres.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and execute dives to a maximum of 40 metres
• Manage gas reserves and turn-pressure on deep profiles
• Recognise and respond to nitrogen narcosis
• Perform controlled descents and ascents using a reference line
• Track no-decompression limits and safety stops
• Adapt to reduced light and colour at depth

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• SSI Advanced Adventurer or equivalent
• At least 24 logged dives recommended for SSI Deep Diving
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory and first deep dives

   Study deep-diving planning and narcosis via MySSI, then complete the first deep dives on park walls.
2. Day2
   Depth progression and certification

   Progress toward 40 metres on seamounts and pinnacles, then certify as an SSI Deep Diving specialist.
