Course overview

Extend your range to recreational depths with the PADI Deep Diver specialty in Komodo, the ideal place to learn deep-diving discipline among the park's pinnacles, walls and seamounts. You practise descent-stop decisions, gas planning and managing narcosis on real vertical relief at sites that drop well past 30 metres. You finish certified to dive to a maximum of 40 metres.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and execute dives to a maximum of 40 metres
• Manage gas supply and turn-pressure on deeper profiles
• Recognise and respond to nitrogen narcosis
• Use a reference line and controlled descents and ascents
• Monitor no-decompression limits and safety stops
• Handle the colour and light changes at depth

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• PADI Adventure Diver or higher (Advanced Open Water recommended)
• At least 15 logged dives recommended
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory and first deep dives

   Cover deep-diving planning, gas management and narcosis, then complete the first deep dives on park walls.
2. Day2
   Depth progression and certification

   Complete the remaining dives progressing toward 40 metres on seamounts and pinnacles, then certify as a PADI Deep Diver.
