Course overview

The SSI Deep Diving Specialty certifies you to plan and make dives to 40 metres so you can explore Koh Lanta's deepest highlights with confidence. That opens up the dramatic pinnacles of Hin Daeng and Hin Muang, whose red and purple soft-coral walls fall away below recreational limits and pull in manta rays and pelagics. You learn deep dive planning, narcosis management and conservative ascent procedures on real Andaman sites.

What you’ll learn

• Plan deep dives within time, depth and gas-supply limits
• Recognise and respond to nitrogen narcosis
• Descend and ascend under control using a reference line
• Monitor your no-decompression status and execute safety stops
• Manage gas supply and turn-pressures on a deep profile
• Adapt to reduced light and colour at depth

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• SSI Advanced Adventurer or equivalent certification
• Comfortable with buoyancy control and basic dive planning
• Diver medical questionnaire (physician sign-off if any condition applies)

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & first deep dives

   Work through deep-dive planning, then make the first two training dives building toward 30m around Koh Haa.
2. Day2
   Pinnacle dives to 40m

   Finish the final two dives on the deep walls of Hin Daeng or Hin Muang, rehearsing narcosis checks and ascent control.
