The PADI Deep Diver Specialty certifies you to plan and make dives down to 40 metres, the depth you need to properly explore Koh Lanta's signature sites. Here that means the towering pinnacles of Hin Daeng and Hin Muang, whose soft-coral-clad walls drop well past recreational limits and draw manta rays and big pelagics. You learn to manage gas, narcosis and decompression-status while building the confidence to dive deep responsibly.
The PADI Deep Diver Specialty extends your maximum recreational depth to 40m and counts toward the Master Scuba Diver rating. It can also be credited as an Adventure Dive toward Advanced Open Water if you have not yet completed that certification.
Koh Lanta is purpose-built for a deep specialty: the offshore pinnacles of Hin Daeng and Hin Muang plunge past 40m with soft-coral walls, manta rays and big-fish action, while Koh Haa's caverns give a calmer warm-up. Train in the November-to-April season for warm 27-30°C water and the cleanest visibility on the deeper sites.
