Course overview

The PADI Deep Diver Specialty certifies you to plan and make dives down to 40 metres, the depth you need to properly explore Koh Lanta's signature sites. Here that means the towering pinnacles of Hin Daeng and Hin Muang, whose soft-coral-clad walls drop well past recreational limits and draw manta rays and big pelagics. You learn to manage gas, narcosis and decompression-status while building the confidence to dive deep responsibly.

What you’ll learn

• Plan deep dives including time, depth and gas-supply limits
• Recognise and manage nitrogen narcosis at depth
• Use a reference line for controlled descents and ascents
• Apply safety stops and monitor your no-decompression status
• Manage your air supply and turn-pressures for the deeper profile
• Handle the colour and light changes that come with depth

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• PADI Adventure Diver, Advanced Open Water Diver or qualifying certification
• Comfortable with basic dive planning and buoyancy
• Diver medical questionnaire (physician sign-off if any condition applies)

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & first deep dives

   Cover deep-dive planning and safety, then make your first two training dives building toward 30m at a site such as Koh Haa.
2. Day2
   Pinnacle dives to 40m

   Complete the final two dives on the deep walls of Hin Daeng or Hin Muang, practising narcosis checks and ascent procedures.
