Course overview

Open up the deeper reef with the SSI Deep Diving specialty on Kadmat Island. You learn to plan and safely conduct dives toward the 40-metre recreational limit along the atoll's ocean-side reef walls, where the clear Lakshadweep water reveals deeper coral, larger pelagics and the dramatic light and colour changes of depth.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and manage dives to recreational depths up to 40 metres
• Control gas supply, no-decompression limits and safety stops at depth
• Recognise and manage the effects of nitrogen narcosis
• Monitor air, depth and time more rigorously at depth
• Descend and ascend under control using a reference line
• Adapt to reduced light and colour at depth on the reef

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• SSI Advanced Adventurer or equivalent, with relevant logged dives
• Sound buoyancy and air-management skills
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & first deep dives

   Complete the SSI digital theory and planning, then make your first progressively deeper dives on the reef slope.
2. Day2
   To 40 metres

   Work toward the 40-metre limit on Kadmat's reef walls, practising narcosis checks and gas management.
