Course overview

Unlock 40-metre diving with the SSI Deep Diving specialty on Gili Trawangan, training on the island's deeper reef slopes and drop-offs in warm 27-29°C water. Through hands-on training dives you learn the gas planning, narcosis management and ascent discipline that deep recreational diving demands.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and execute dives to a maximum of 40 metres
• Identify and respond to nitrogen narcosis
• Manage air consumption and no-decompression limits at depth
• Execute controlled ascents and safety stops
• Adapt to reduced light, colour loss and cooler deep water

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• SSI Advanced Adventurer or equivalent, comfortable at 30m
• A logged-dive base appropriate to deep training
• Diver medical clearance where required

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & first deep dives

   SSI deep-diving academics, then progressive dives toward 30m on Gili's reef slopes.
2. Day2
   Dives to 40m & certification

   Deeper dives to a maximum of 40m with narcosis and gas-management drills, then certification.
