Course overview

Extend your depth limit to 40 metres with the PADI Deep Diver specialty on Gili Trawangan, where deeper reef slopes and the island's drop-offs let you put deep-diving theory into practice. Across four training dives you learn to manage gas, narcosis and no-decompression limits on Gili's clear, warm 27-29°C deep sites.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and execute dives to a maximum of 40 metres
• Recognise and manage nitrogen narcosis at depth
• Monitor air consumption, gas planning and no-decompression limits
• Use a safety stop and contingency gas / staged ascents
• Manage colour loss and account for deeper-water conditions

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• PADI Adventure Diver (or equivalent), with Deep Adventure Dive recommended
• Comfort with the Advanced Open Water 30m depth range
• Diver medical clearance where required

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & first deep dives

   Deep-diving theory and planning, then two progressive dives building toward 30m on Gili's reef slopes.
2. Day2
   Dives to 40m & certification

   Two further dives to a maximum of 40m with narcosis and gas-management exercises, then certification.
