Course overview

Push your range to the recreational limit with the SSI Deep Diving specialty out of Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz Island. You master deep-dive planning, gas management and narcosis awareness to 40 metres at sites such as Cousins Rock and the drop-off at Beagle Rocks, where sharks and rays cruise the blue. You earn the SSI Deep Diving certification on completion.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and execute dives to 40 metres within no-decompression limits
• Manage gas reserves, turn pressure and ascent control
• Identify and manage nitrogen narcosis
• Build and follow contingency and emergency plans
• Adapt for cool water and current at depth

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• SSI Advanced Adventurer or equivalent
• Comfortable with the planned depth progression
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Planning & first descents

   Deep theory plus progressively deeper dives toward 30 metres at sites like Cousins Rock.
2. Day2
   To the recreational limit

   Further dives reaching up to 40 metres with full planning and narcosis monitoring at Beagle Rocks or similar.
