Course overview

The SSI Deep Diving specialty certifies you to dive to 40 metres and explore the deeper channels and outer reefs of Baa Atoll in the Maldives. Through SSI's digital training and dives near Dharavandhoo, you build the planning, gas-management and narcosis-awareness skills that deeper diving demands.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and execute dives to a maximum of 40 metres
• Manage gas and no-decompression limits at depth
• Recognise and respond to nitrogen narcosis
• Control ascents and plan safety stops
• Use contingency and turn-pressure planning
• Adapt to deeper, current-influenced atoll sites

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• SSI Advanced Adventurer or equivalent certification
• Comfortable with buoyancy and dive planning
• Diver medical clearance form (physician sign-off if needed)

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Planning & first deep dives

   Digital deep theory plus the first dives progressing in depth with planning and narcosis exercises.
2. Day2
   Deep dives to 40 m

   Further dives reaching toward 40 metres on suitable Baa Atoll sites, practising gas and contingency management, then certify.
