Course overview

Push your limits with the SSI Deep Diving specialty on Ambergris Caye, learning to dive confidently to 40 metres along the Belize Barrier Reef. The clear Caribbean water and dramatic reef walls off San Pedro provide a superb setting to gain deep-diving experience under expert guidance.

What you’ll learn

• Plan deep dives within recreational limits to 40 metres
• Manage air consumption and no-decompression time at depth
• Recognise and counter nitrogen narcosis
• Execute controlled descents, ascents and safety stops
• Adapt to reduced light and colour at depth
• Use redundant gas and deep-diving equipment

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• SSI Advanced Adventurer or equivalent certification
• Sound buoyancy and air management
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & build-up dives

   Digital deep-diving theory followed by dives building depth and practising narcosis tasks along the reef.
2. Day2
   Toward 40 metres

   Further dives extending to recreational deep limits at the reef drop-offs off Ambergris Caye.
