Course overview

Extend your range with the PADI Deep Diver specialty on Ambergris Caye, training to dive safely to 40 metres on the Belize Barrier Reef and beyond. The clear Caribbean water off San Pedro and access to dramatic drop-offs along the reef make it an ideal place to build deep-diving experience and confidence.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and execute dives to a maximum of 40 metres
• Manage gas supply and no-decompression limits at depth
• Recognise and respond to nitrogen narcosis
• Use safety stops and ascent procedures correctly
• Monitor colour and light changes with depth
• Handle specialised deep-diving equipment and contingencies

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• PADI Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver
• Comfortable with deeper recreational dives
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Deep theory & first dives

   Cover deep-diving theory, then two dives building depth and practising narcosis-awareness tasks along the reef.
2. Day2
   To 40 metres

   Two further dives extending toward 40 metres with gas-management and ascent practice at drop-off sites off Ambergris Caye.
