Course overview

Get a genuine head start toward certification with the SSI Scuba Diver (Basic Diver) program in Raja Ampat, covering the first half of full Open Water training. You complete the academics and confined-water sessions plus initial open-water dives to 12 metres in the calm shallows near Mansuar Island, earning a recognised entry-level rating you can later upgrade.

What you’ll learn

• Assemble and care for scuba equipment

• Equalise, descend and ascend safely

Prerequisites

• No experience or swimming certification required
• Minimum age 10
• Reasonable comfort in the water
