Course overview

Begin your certification journey with the PADI Scuba Diver program in Raja Ampat, a subset of the full Open Water course that gets you diving sooner. You complete the first knowledge sections, confined-water skills and initial open-water dives to 12 metres in the sheltered shallows near Mansuar Island, earning a recognised rating you can later upgrade.

The PADI Basic Diver pathway

PADI Scuba Diver is a subset of the Open Water Diver course; you dive to 12 metres under the supervision of a PADI professional and can upgrade to full Open Water Diver by completing the remaining knowledge sections and dives.

Where you'll dive in Raja Ampat

Open-water training uses the calm, shallow reefs around Mansuar Island, where gentle conditions and warm 27-30°C water are well suited to first dives away from Raja Ampat's stronger currents.
