Course overview

Begin your certification journey with the PADI Scuba Diver program in Raja Ampat, a subset of the full Open Water course that gets you diving sooner. You complete the first knowledge sections, confined-water skills and initial open-water dives to 12 metres in the sheltered shallows near Mansuar Island, earning a recognised rating you can later upgrade.

What you’ll learn

• Set up and look after scuba equipment
• Perform core skills such as mask clearing and regulator recovery
• Equalise and control descents and ascents
• Establish basic neutral buoyancy
• Dive under the supervision of a PADI professional
• Apply fundamental dive-safety procedures

Prerequisites

• No experience or swimming certification required
• Minimum age 10
• Comfortable in the water
• Complete a medical questionnaire (physician sign-off if any condition applies)

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Knowledge and confined water

   Complete the first knowledge sections and three confined-water skill dives.
2. Day2
   Open-water dives

   Make two supervised open-water dives to 12 metres near Mansuar Island and certify.
