Course overview

The SSI Advanced Adventurer course samples five specialty adventure dives and extends your range to 30m, letting you explore Zanzibar's deeper reefs and walls. You try dives such as deep, navigation, night and buoyancy across sites around Mnemba Atoll, Tumbatu and Stone Town, each one a taste of a full SSI specialty.

What you’ll learn

• Dive confidently to a maximum of 30 metres
• Sample five different specialty disciplines
• Navigate using compass and natural references
• Improve buoyancy, trim and dive planning
• Build experience across deep, wreck or night dives
• Decide which full specialties to pursue next

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12 (junior) / 15 (adult)
• SSI Open Water Diver or a qualifying certification from another agency
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Navigation & deep

   Adventure dives in navigation on Kendwa or Stone Town and a deep dive toward 30m on Tumbatu or a northern wall.
2. Day2
   Adventure electives

   Three more specialty adventure dives, such as wreck off Stone Town, night or buoyancy on Mnemba, to complete the rating.
