Course overview

The PADI Advanced Open Water course builds your skills across five adventure dives and extends your certified depth to 30m, opening up Zanzibar's deeper reefs and walls. You complete the required Deep and Underwater Navigation dives plus three choices such as wreck, night or peak performance buoyancy on sites around Mnemba Atoll, Tumbatu and Stone Town.

The PADI Advanced Open Water pathway

PADI Advanced Open Water requires the Deep and Underwater Navigation adventure dives plus three electives, and certifies you to 30m. Each adventure dive can credit toward the matching PADI specialty.

Where you'll dive in Zanzibar

Advanced students roam Zanzibar's variety, deep walls at Tumbatu and the northern reefs, drift dives at Kendwa, wrecks off Stone Town and the dolphin-rich shallows of Mnemba Atoll, all within the calm July-to-February season.
