Course overview

The SSI Advanced Adventurer course in Papua New Guinea expands your diving with five adventure dives across the seamounts, walls and wrecks of Kimbe Bay. Sampling deep diving, navigation and electives such as wreck or perfect-buoyancy dives, you build skills and confidence while exploring some of the world's richest reefs. The rating qualifies you to dive to a 30 m maximum depth.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and execute dives to a maximum of 30 m
• Navigate with compass and natural references
• Refine buoyancy and trim over delicate coral
• Sample five different SSI specialty disciplines
• Dive deeper walls and wreck sites with confidence
• Strengthen dive planning and self-reliance

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12 (Junior) or 15 for the full rating
• SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent certification
• Comfortable core scuba skills and buoyancy
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Deep & navigation dives

   Complete deep and navigation adventure dives on a Kimbe Bay seamount and reef.
2. Day2
   Elective dives & certification

   Finish three further adventure dives, which may include wreck options, then certify as an SSI Advanced Adventurer.
