Course overview

The PADI Advanced Open Water course in Papua New Guinea builds on your Open Water skills with five adventure dives across the seamounts, walls and wrecks of Kimbe Bay. Over deep dives to coral slopes, navigation on biodiverse reefs and optional wreck or drift adventures, you gain the confidence and the depth qualification to explore the region's signature sites. The certification takes you to a 30 m maximum depth.

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12 (Junior Advanced Open Water) or 15 for the full rating
• PADI Open Water Diver or qualifying certification
• Comfortable basic scuba skills and buoyancy
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Deep & navigation dives

   Complete the required deep and underwater-navigation adventure dives on a Kimbe Bay seamount and reef.
2. Day2
   Elective dives & certification

   Finish three elective adventure dives, which may include wreck or drift options, then certify as an Advanced Open Water Diver.
