Course overview

Broaden your diving with the SSI Advanced Adventurer course in Djibouti, exploring the reefs, walls and drop-offs of the Gulf of Tadjoura where the Red Sea opens to the Indian Ocean. Over five dives sampling different specialties you build the skills and confidence to dive to 30 metres in one of the Red Sea's quietest destinations, and each dive counts toward a full SSI specialty later.

What you’ll learn

• Conduct dives to 30 metres on the Deep adventure dive
• Navigate by natural reference and compass with confidence
• Refine buoyancy, trim and air management
• Sample five specialty areas such as deep, navigation, night and nitrox
• Strengthen dive planning and adaptability across conditions

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12 (Junior) or 15
• SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent certification
• Basic comfort with core dive skills
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Deep and navigation

   Complete the Deep adventure dive on a Gulf of Tadjoura wall and a Navigation dive on a reef.
2. Day2
   Elective adventures

   Choose and complete three further adventure dives, such as night or nitrox, to earn the certification.
