Course overview

Expand your skills with the SSI Advanced Adventurer course in Ambon on the Banda Sea, sampling five specialty adventure dives across muck, reef and wreck. Using the SSI digital system you log dives at sites such as the Twilight Zone and the Hesperus wreck, finishing certified with the experience and depth qualification to dive to 30 metres.

What you’ll learn

• Try five different specialty adventure dives
• Make deeper dives toward the 30-metre recreational limit
• Navigate with natural references and a compass
• Refine buoyancy, trim and air management
• Develop dive planning and decision-making
• Apply skills across muck, reef and wreck sites

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12 (junior)
• SSI Open Water Diver (or equivalent certification)
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Deep & navigation

   Make the deep adventure dive on a local wall and the navigation adventure dive at a site such as the Coral Gardens.
2. Day2
   Further adventure dives

   Complete three more specialty adventure dives — for example wreck on the Hesperus, night or buoyancy — then certify.
