Course overview

Malta and Gozo are the Mediterranean's wreck-diving capital, and the PADI Wreck Diver specialty here lets you explore that fleet with proper training. You learn survey, mapping and safe-penetration technique on purpose-sunk wrecks like the tanker Um El Faroud, the Rozi tugboat and the P-class patrol boats, many sitting upright in startlingly clear water. You finish certified to plan and conduct wreck dives responsibly.

The PADI Wreck Diver pathway

PADI Wreck Diver is a specialty that counts toward the Master Scuba Diver rating. It teaches recreational wreck and limited-penetration technique; full overhead penetration requires further technical training.

Where you'll dive in Malta Gozo

Malta and Gozo hold 25-plus dived wrecks, from the 10,000-tonne tanker Um El Faroud and the Rozi tugboat off Cirkewwa to the P29 and P31 patrol boats and the Gozo ferries Karwela and Cominoland, most sitting upright in clear water with visibility often over 30 metres.
