Course overview

Learn to explore sunken structures with the PADI Wreck Diver specialty at Kovalam, applying wreck-diving techniques on sites off the Kerala coast in the warm Arabian Sea. You practise mapping, careful navigation around the Kovalam-area sites and safe penetration planning under instructor guidance, down to 30 metres. You finish certified as a PADI Wreck Diver.

The PADI Wreck Diver pathway

The PADI Wreck Diver specialty involves four dives and counts toward the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating. Limited penetration is taught with proper lines and procedures; full overhead penetration requires further technical training.

Where you'll dive in Kovalam

Wreck training is run on suitable structures and reef sites off the Kovalam coast in the Arabian Sea, with the calm post-monsoon season (roughly October to March) and warm 27-30°C water giving the best access and visibility.
