Course overview

The PADI Wreck Diver specialty teaches you to safely explore sunken wrecks, a skill that opens up the structures and artificial reefs dotted around the Maldives near Baa Atoll. Across four dives you learn survey, mapping and penetration-line techniques while diving to 30 metres on suitable sites accessed from Dharavandhoo.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and execute safe wreck dives within recreational limits
• Survey and map a wreck and its hazards
• Use penetration lines and reels for limited entry
• Manage buoyancy and silt to maintain visibility
• Carry and deploy appropriate wreck-diving equipment

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• PADI Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver
• Comfortable with buoyancy control and navigation
• Diver medical clearance form (physician sign-off if needed)

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Survey & mapping dives

   Wreck theory plus the first two dives focused on assessment, survey and mapping techniques.
2. Day2
   Navigation & line work

   Two further dives practising navigation, reel and line skills and, where appropriate, limited penetration, then certify.
