Course overview

Get certified in less time with the PADI Scuba Diver course in Rasdhoo Atoll, a sub-certification that lets you dive to 12 metres under the supervision of a dive professional. Ideal if your trip is short, it covers the first portion of the Open Water program on the island's calm reefs and can be upgraded to full Open Water later.

What you’ll learn

• Assemble, check and use scuba equipment
• Perform core safety skills including mask clearing and regulator recovery
• Control buoyancy and maintain neutral trim
• Communicate and plan a dive with a buddy and guide
• Dive to 12 metres under professional supervision
• Apply basic dive theory and safe ascent practices

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10 (Junior) or 15
• Adequate comfort and basic swimming ability
• No prior certification required
• Diver medical questionnaire (physician sign-off if any condition applies)

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & confined water

   Knowledge sections one to three and confined-water skills in the sheltered shallows by the island.
2. Day2
   Open-water dives & certification

   Two open-water training dives to 12 metres at a calm reef such as Veligandu East, then certification.
