Course overview

The PADI Rescue Diver course teaches you to prevent and manage diving emergencies, and Fujairah's calm, shore-accessible east-coast reefs are an ideal place to practise. Across scenarios at sites like Dibba Rock and Snoopy Island you learn to spot stress, assist tired and panicked divers and run a missing-diver search, finishing as a more confident, self-reliant member of any dive team.

What you’ll learn

• Recognise and respond to diver stress before it becomes an emergency
• Manage tired, panicked and unresponsive divers at the surface and underwater
• Conduct an in-water rescue and tow with rescue breathing
• Run a missing-diver search pattern and surface recovery
• Plan and coordinate an emergency response with the dive team
• Provide first aid and emergency oxygen to an injured diver

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12 (Junior Rescue Diver under 15)
• PADI Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water (with Underwater Navigation)
• Emergency First Response primary and secondary care within 24 months
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Knowledge & first aid

   Complete rescue theory and confirm or complete your EFR (CPR and first aid) training.
2. Day2
   Rescue skills

   Practise the ten rescue exercises in the calm shallows off Snoopy Island, from self-rescue to unresponsive-diver tows.
3. Day3
   Scenarios & certification

   Run full emergency scenarios including a missing-diver search at Dibba Rock to complete the course.
