Course overview

The PADI Rescue Diver course in Tulamben transforms you from a self-focused diver into one who watches out for everyone, practising tired-diver tows and surface rescues from the same black-sand beach used to reach the USAT Liberty. Scenarios play out in the protected, warm waters of Tulamben Bay where currents are gentle and visibility forgiving. Most divers call it the most rewarding course they take.

What you’ll learn

• Recognise and manage diver stress
• Perform self-rescue and tired-diver tows
• Search for and surface an unresponsive diver
• Provide in-water rescue breathing
• Plan and execute an emergency response

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12 (Junior)
• PADI Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water
• EFR Primary & Secondary Care within 24 months
• Medical clearance for diving
