

The PADI Rescue Diver course transforms you into a more aware, capable diver who can prevent and manage problems in the water, set in the warm reefs of Baa Atoll in the Maldives. Across scenario-based dives near Dharavandhoo you practise self-rescue, assisting tired or panicked divers and managing a diver emergency. It is widely regarded as the most rewarding course in the PADI system.
PADI Rescue Diver requires current CPR and first-aid training, usually the Emergency First Response course, which can be completed alongside. It is a prerequisite for the PADI Divemaster rating.
Rescue scenarios run on the sheltered house reefs and shallow lagoons around Dharavandhoo in Baa Atoll, where calm 27-30°C water gives a safe, realistic environment to practise surface tows and unresponsive-diver recoveries.
