Course overview

Earn the world's most recognised entry-level scuba qualification with the PADI Open Water Diver course in Port Blair, the gateway to the Andamans. Over three to four days you progress from confined-water skills to four open-water training dives on the calm, coral-rich reefs around Chidiyatapu and the Andaman Sea, qualifying you to dive to 18 metres anywhere in the world. No previous experience is required.

The PADI Open Water Diver pathway

PADI Open Water Diver certifies you to dive to 18 metres with a buddy, anywhere in the world, with no expiry. It is the prerequisite for the Advanced Open Water course and most specialties.

Where you'll dive in Port Blair

Training dives use the calm, shallow, coral-rich reefs around Chidiyatapu and the Andaman Sea off Port Blair, where warm 27-29C water, gentle conditions and good visibility in the December-to-April season make an ideal classroom for new divers.
