Become a certified diver with the PADI Open Water Diver course in Papua New Guinea, training in the warm, sheltered waters of Kimbe Bay. From confined-water skills in calm island shallows to four open-water dives on biodiverse reefs alive with anemonefish and turtles, you finish licensed to dive independently with a buddy to 18 m anywhere in the world. It is the ideal place to learn, surrounded by reefs that hold over half the world's coral species.
PADI Open Water Diver is the world's most recognised entry-level certification. It qualifies you to dive to 18 m with a buddy and is the prerequisite for the Advanced Open Water course and most specialties.
Training takes place in Kimbe Bay's sheltered island shallows and on accessible fringing reefs, where calm 27-30°C water, easy entries and turtle-rich coral make an excellent classroom, with the best conditions in the dry season from May to October.
