Course overview

Earn the world's most popular diving certification with the PADI Open Water Diver course in Krabi, learning to dive independently to 18 metres on the warm Andaman reefs around Ao Nang. Over knowledge sessions, confined water and four training dives at the local islands or Phi Phi sites, you build the skills to dive with a buddy anywhere in the world. You finish a fully certified PADI Open Water Diver.

What you’ll learn

• Assemble, check and maintain scuba equipment
• Master core skills including mask clearing and regulator recovery
• Achieve neutral buoyancy and control your trim
• Plan dives using tables or a dive computer
• Manage out-of-air and other problem scenarios

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10 (Junior Open Water) or 15
• No prior certification required
• Able to swim and comfortable in water
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & confined water

   Complete the knowledge development and first confined-water skills in calm shallows near Ao Nang.
2. Day2
   Open-water dives 1 & 2

   Apply your skills on the first two training dives at a local Andaman reef.
3. Day3
   Open-water dives 3 & 4

   Finish the final training dives, possibly at the Phi Phi sites, and complete certification.
