Course overview

Discover the reef after dark with the PADI Night Diver specialty on Maafushi, where the South Malé Atoll comes alive at sunset. Diving the calm island house reef and nearby sites, you watch octopus, moray eels and hunting reef fish emerge while practising light signalling and night navigation in warm 27-30°C water. You finish certified to plan and enjoy night dives.

What you’ll learn

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12 (Junior) or 15
• PADI Open Water Diver (or qualifying equivalent)
• Comfortable with basic underwater navigation
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

   Theory & night dives

   Night-diving theory and equipment prep, then guided night dives on the calm house reef to learn signalling, navigation and nocturnal marine life.
