Course overview

See Kadmat's reef transform after dark with the PADI Night Diver specialty. As the sun sets over the Lakshadweep atoll, day creatures retreat and nocturnal hunters emerge; over three dives you learn light handling, night navigation and communication while watching the reef come alive with crustaceans, hunting fish and bioluminescence.

What you’ll learn

• Plan, organise and conduct a night dive safely
• Enter, exit and navigate the reef in the dark
• Use a primary and backup dive light and light signals
• Communicate with your buddy using torch signals
• Identify nocturnal marine life and behaviour
• Maintain buoyancy and orientation with limited visual reference

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12
• PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or equivalent
• Comfortable basic buoyancy and navigation
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician
