Course overview

Experience Coron's reefs after dark with the PADI Night Diver specialty, when the marine life changes and species such as cuttlefish, crustaceans and hunting fish become active. Over three night dives on sheltered reef sites in warm 27-29C water, you learn light handling, night navigation and communication. You finish certified to plan and enjoy night dives safely.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and conduct night dives within safe limits
• Use a primary and backup dive light effectively
• Communicate with light signals after dark
• Navigate and stay oriented at night
• Enter, exit and stay together as a team in darkness
• Identify nocturnal marine life and behaviour

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12
• PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent certification)
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician
• Comfortable with buoyancy control in open water

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Night diving skills

   Knowledge development by day, then three night dives across one or more evenings covering light signalling, night navigation and nocturnal life on a sheltered reef, ending in certification.
