Course overview

Discover the reef after dark with the PADI Night Diver specialty in Ambon on the Banda Sea, home to some of the planet's richest critter life. You learn light handling, night navigation and communication while watching nocturnal hunters and the famed Ambon Frogfish emerge, finishing certified as a PADI Night Diver.

What you’ll learn

• Plan, organise and conduct night dives safely
• Use primary and backup dive lights and light signals
• Navigate and maintain orientation in the dark
• Communicate with light and touch contact at night
• Identify nocturnal marine life and behaviour
• Enter, exit and control buoyancy in low light

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12 (Junior)
• PADI Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification)
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & night dives

   Cover night-diving procedures and light handling at dusk, then complete the night dives on a local reef and certify.
