Sharpen your underwater orientation with the PADI Underwater Navigator specialty in Ambon on the Banda Sea, where muck slopes and reef edges reward precise navigation. You master natural references, compass headings and pattern swims around sites like the Coral Gardens, finishing certified to lead yourself and others back to the boat with confidence.

What you’ll learn

• Navigate accurately using natural underwater references
• Use a compass to swim straight courses and reciprocal headings
• Estimate distance by kick-cycles, time and air consumption
• Swim square, triangle and reciprocal navigation patterns
• Mark and relocate an underwater point of interest
• Plan and follow a navigation route on a dive

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10 (Junior)
• PADI Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification)
