Course overview

The PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) specialty lets you extend your no-decompression bottom time using oxygen-enriched air, a real advantage on Zanzibar's reef and wall dives. It is largely a knowledge course with no required dives, so you can certify in a day and apply it immediately around Mnemba and Stone Town.

The PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) pathway

The PADI Enriched Air Diver specialty can be completed without any training dives, though optional dives are often added in Zanzibar. It counts toward the Master Scuba Diver rating and is a smart pairing with the Deep specialty.

Where you'll dive in Zanzibar

Nitrox pays off most on Zanzibar's repetitive reef days around Mnemba Atoll and the longer multi-dive trips off Stone Town, where the extra no-stop time lets you stay down longer across the diving season.
