Course overview

The PADI Enriched Air (Nitrox) Diver specialty in Muscat lets you extend your no-decompression time on Oman's reefs, a real advantage on repetitive boat dives to the Daymaniyat Islands and Fahal Island. You learn to analyse cylinders, set your computer for enriched air and dive nitrox safely, with no extra training dives required. You certify as a PADI Enriched Air Diver.

What you’ll learn

• Understand the benefits and limits of diving enriched air
• Analyse a cylinder's oxygen content and log the mix
• Calculate maximum operating depth and oxygen exposure limits
• Set a dive computer for enriched-air diving
• Manage the risk of oxygen toxicity
• Plan extended no-decompression dives on multi-dive days

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12
• PADI Open Water Diver (or equivalent)
• No additional dives required to certify
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

1. Day1
   Theory & analysis

   Complete the enriched-air theory, practise cylinder analysis and computer set-up, then certify; optional enriched-air dives can follow on Daymaniyat boat trips.
