Course overview

Build the confidence to act in an emergency with the PADI Emergency First Response course on Tioman, a dry, classroom-based programme you can complete in a single day on the island. It teaches primary and secondary care to internationally recognised standards and is the CPR and first-aid foundation required before the PADI Rescue Diver course and professional ratings.

What you’ll learn

• Perform primary care (CPR) on a non-breathing patient
• Provide secondary care for injuries and illnesses that are not life-threatening
• Use a barrier device and manage a conscious and unconscious patient
• Recognise and respond to choking, bleeding and shock
• Understand AED use and serious-bleeding management
• Build the confidence to react in a real emergency

Prerequisites

• No prior experience or certification required
• No minimum age for participation (open to all ages)
• Open to divers and non-divers alike

   Primary and secondary care

   Classroom-based session at the dive centre on Tioman covering CPR, first-aid skills and hands-on manikin practice, finishing with the skills assessment and certification.
