Course overview

Learn to respond confidently to medical emergencies with the PADI Emergency First Response course, available at Khao Lak alongside Similan Islands dive training. This non-diving programme teaches CPR and first-aid skills that satisfy the prerequisite for the PADI Rescue Diver and Divemaster ratings, making it a popular add-on for divers progressing through the professional pathway.

What you’ll learn

• Perform primary care (CPR) on a non-breathing patient
• Deliver secondary care (first aid) for injuries and illness
• Conduct scene assessment and barrier use for safety
• Manage serious bleeding, shock and spinal injury
• Use an automated external defibrillator (AED)
• Provide emergency oxygen where trained

Prerequisites

• No prior experience or certification required
• No minimum age for participation (certification standards apply)
• Open to divers and non-divers alike
• No swimming or water skills needed

   Primary & secondary care
