Course overview

Build the life-saving skills behind every rescue rating with PADI Emergency First Response at Netrani Island on the Karnataka coast. This non-diving course teaches primary and secondary care so you can respond confidently to medical emergencies, both in everyday life and on the dive boats running out to Netrani. It satisfies the first-aid and CPR prerequisite for the PADI Rescue Diver and Divemaster ratings.

What you’ll learn

• Perform CPR and provide primary care for a non-breathing patient
• Manage serious bleeding, shock and spinal-injury situations
• Use barriers and an AED to reduce contamination and assist circulation
• Deliver secondary care including illness and injury assessment
• Bandage, splint and monitor a patient until help arrives
• Build the confidence to act in a real emergency on land or on the boat

Prerequisites

• No prior experience or certification required
• Open to non-divers and divers alike
• No minimum diving age — suitable for adults and teens
• Reasonable physical health to perform hands-on CPR practice

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Primary care (CPR)

   Learn and practise scene assessment, CPR, AED use, serious-bleeding and shock management.
2. Day2
   Secondary care & assessment

   Cover illness and injury assessment, bandaging and splinting, then complete the skills evaluation and certification.
