Course overview

Build the confidence to act in an emergency with the PADI Emergency First Response course in Malta and Gozo, a dry land-based programme that teaches primary and secondary care to international standards. It is the perfect companion to your Rescue Diver or Divemaster training and useful far beyond diving. No diving or swimming experience is required.

What you’ll learn

• Perform CPR and rescue breathing on an adult
• Manage a non-breathing patient and use an AED
• Control serious bleeding and treat for shock
• Provide secondary care (first aid) for illness and injury
• Conduct scene assessment and barrier use to reduce risk

Prerequisites

• No diving or swimming experience required
• No minimum age for participation (a useful prerequisite for Rescue Diver and pro courses)
• Willingness to practise CPR and first-aid skills on a training manikin

   Primary & secondary care

   Classroom and hands-on practice of CPR, AED use, bleeding control and first aid, finishing with skills assessment and certification.
