Course overview

Emergency First Response is a stand-alone CPR and first-aid course that builds the confidence to help in a medical emergency, on land or at the dive centre in Baa Atoll, Maldives. It is open to everyone, not just divers, and satisfies the first-aid prerequisite for the PADI Rescue Diver and Divemaster courses.

What you’ll learn

• Perform adult CPR and use barrier devices
• Manage a non-breathing or unresponsive casualty
• Provide primary care for serious injuries and illness
• Deliver secondary care including illness and injury assessment
• Control bleeding and manage shock and spinal injury
• Understand AED use and emergency-scene management

Prerequisites

• No prior experience or certification required
• Open to non-divers and all ages (paediatric module available)
• No minimum age for participation
• No medical clearance needed for the course itself

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Primary & secondary care

   Complete CPR and first-aid theory and hands-on skills practice with scenarios, then the final skills assessment - no diving involved.
