Course overview

Build the lifesaving foundation every diver should carry with the PADI Emergency First Response course on Ambergris Caye. This non-diving certification teaches primary and secondary care, giving you the CPR and first-aid confidence that underpins the Rescue Diver and Divemaster pathways on the Belize Barrier Reef.

What you’ll learn

• Perform CPR and rescue breathing on an unresponsive person
• Manage a primary-care emergency scene safely
• Provide secondary care for injuries and illness
• Use an automated external defibrillator (AED)
• Control bleeding and manage shock
• Recognise when and how to activate emergency services

Prerequisites

• No prior experience or certification required
• Open to non-divers and divers alike
• Suitable for all ages with parental consent for minors

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Primary & secondary care

   Independent study followed by hands-on CPR, AED and first-aid practice with manikins, then a skills assessment, completed in one day on the island.
