Course overview

The PADI Emergency First Response course teaches primary and secondary care so you can act confidently in an emergency, on a dive boat off Alor or anywhere else. It is a non-diving classroom course and the required first-aid foundation for the PADI Rescue Diver and professional ratings, making it a smart add-on before tackling Alor's more demanding sites.

What you’ll learn

• Perform CPR and rescue breathing on an unresponsive patient
• Manage primary care including serious bleeding and shock
• Deliver secondary care for injuries and illnesses that are not life-threatening
• Use barriers to reduce disease-transmission risk
• Recognise and respond to a diving or surface emergency
• Build the confidence to act while waiting for professional help

Prerequisites

• No prior experience or certification required
• Open to non-divers and divers alike
• No minimum age for participation (certification card available to all ages)
• Reasonable physical ability to perform CPR compressions
• No swimming or medical clearance required

   Complete the CPR and first-aid modules, practise on a manikin and run emergency scenarios to earn your EFR certification in a single day.
