Course overview

Earn your first professional rating with the PADI Divemaster course in Phuket, working across the Andaman Sea's sheltered reefs and famous sites like Shark Point and Racha Yai. You build dive-leadership, mapping and supervision skills in warm 27-30C water before guiding certified divers and assisting instructors. The Divemaster certification is the entry point to the PADI professional ranks.

What you’ll learn

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 18
• PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification)
• PADI Rescue Diver certification
• Emergency First Response training within the last 24 months
• At least 40 logged dives to begin and 60 to certify
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Orientation and theory

   Programme briefing, knowledge development and an introduction to the dive-leadership role.
2. Day2
   Water-skills assessment

   Complete stamina swims, the equipment-exchange exercise and the rescue scenario.
3. Day3
   Mapping and supervision

   Map a local reef and practise briefing and supervising divers at Racha Yai.
4. Day4
   Internship dives

   Assist instructors with students and guide certified divers on boat trips to Shark Point.
5. Day5
   Practical assessment

   Demonstrate the 24 skills, run a Discover Scuba scenario and complete final exams.
6. Day6
   Certification

   Logbook review, debrief and issue of the PADI Divemaster rating.
