Course overview

Become a dive professional with the PADI Divemaster course on Gili Trawangan, the first rung of the PADI professional ladder. Working alongside instructors on busy turtle sites like Turtle Heaven and Shark Point, you develop the stamina, dive-leadership and supervision skills to guide certified divers through the island's warm 27-29°C reefs and gentle drifts.

What you’ll learn

• Plan, organise and lead certified divers on Gili reef sites
• Demonstrate the 24 core scuba skills to professional standard
• Master dive-theory: physics, physiology, equipment, decompression and the RDP
• Conduct mapping, search-and-recovery and deep-dive scenarios
• Assist instructors with students in confined and open water
• Complete stamina, rescue-assessment and problem-management exercises

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 18
• PADI Advanced Open Water (or equivalent)
• PADI Rescue Diver (or equivalent) and current EFR / primary & secondary care
• At least 40 logged dives to begin, 60 to certify
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Orientation & water skills

   Programme overview, dive-theory introduction and stamina assessments in calm Gili water.
2. Day2
   Skills & theory

   Demonstration-quality skill circuit and dive-theory study covering physics and decompression.
3. Day3
   Practical workshops

   Dive-site mapping and deep-dive scenarios at sites like Shark Point, plus search-and-recovery.
4. Day4
   Internship & supervision

   Assist instructors with student divers and guide certified divers on turtle reefs.
5. Day5
   Assessment & certification

   Final theory exams, rescue assessment review and Divemaster sign-off.
