Course overview

Become a PADI Divemaster in Coron and earn your first professional rating amid one of the planet's finest collections of WWII Japanese wrecks. You build stamina and supervision skills mapping out and guiding fellow divers across sites from the shallow Lusong Gunboat to the deeper Olympia Maru, all in warm 27-29C water. The Divemaster certification qualifies you to lead certified divers and assist instructors on courses.

What you’ll learn

• Guide certified divers safely on Coron's wrecks and reefs
• Assist a PADI Instructor with students in confined and open water
• Conduct dive briefings, site set-up and group management
• Map a local dive site and plan logistics for a dive trip
• Demonstrate the 24 core skills to demonstration quality

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 18
• PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification)
• PADI Rescue Diver certification
• Emergency First Response (primary and secondary care) within 24 months
• At least 40 logged dives to begin and 60 to certify
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & assessments

   Dive-theory study and exams plus the timed water-skills and stamina evaluations.
2. Day2
   Rescue & skills

   Complete the diver-rescue assessment and polish the 24 demonstration-quality skills.
3. Day3
   Practical workshops

   Run dive-briefing, mapping and search-and-recovery workshops on local sites.
4. Day4
   Site mapping

   Survey and map a Coron dive site such as Siete Pecados as your mapping project.
5. Day5
   Internship

   Assist an instructor with students on confined-water and open-water training dives.
6. Day6
   Final evaluation

   Lead a certified-diver group, complete remaining workshops and finish the certification.
