Course overview

Try scuba diving for the first time with the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience in the Solomon Islands, one of the Pacific's most pristine underwater destinations. Under direct instructor supervision you breathe underwater and explore a shallow, sheltered reef around Guadalcanal in warm 27-30°C water, meeting tropical fish, turtles and vibrant coral. No certification or experience is required.

What you’ll learn

• Breathe comfortably underwater using scuba equipment
• Equalise and descend safely to shallow depths
• Clear water from your mask and recover your regulator
• Move and control buoyancy gently over the reef
• Follow your instructor and basic safety guidelines

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10
• No experience or swimming certification required
• Able to be comfortable in the water
• Complete a brief medical questionnaire

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Discover scuba

   Safety briefing, basic skill practice in confined shallow water, then a guided reef dive to a maximum of 12 metres along a sheltered Guadalcanal reef.
